SOLD OUT!!!! Socorro Island is a one day sail south of Cabo San Lucas, which is located at the southern end of Baja Mexico featuring in big animal diving at the cleaning stations of San Benedicto, Socorro, and Roca Partida (my favorite). Our last trip in 2022 sold out very fast and while I tried to schedule for 2024, the tail end of November – December (the best timeframe IMHO to see the greatest variety and quantity of pelagic marine life) was already sold to the point of not being to accommodate at least 12 of us.
After an overnight voyage we arrive at these Jurassic Park-like islands and with a little luck from mother ocean will experience interactions with giant mantas unlike anywhere else. The mantas of the Socorro Islands love divers, they love to swim with divers, love to feel our bubbles hitting their bellies and then they quiver with excitement. Socorro is also home to humpback whales, dolphins and up to 10 types of sharks. Please visit the Socorro Island page for details, photos, wildlife calendar and more. You can see giant mantas in many places around the world. But nowhere else boasts a population of giant mantas that literally seek out interaction with divers and snorkelers. While Giant Pacific Mantas are the main reason to voyage out to Socorro, Whalesharks, Schools of Hammerheads, Tigersharks, Silver Tips, White Tips, Black Tip, Galapagos, and Silky Sharks, 500 lb Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphins, Mobula Rays, Octopus, large schools of pelagic fish, as well as all the colorful Pacific Reef fish. Some of us arrived early and got a great dive with friendly Sea Lions in Cabo. The Bottlenose Dolphins consistently hang out with divers at certain dive sites, and, in season, humpback whales.
Cost: 3695.00 + $185.00 (5% Tax)= 3880.00 per person double occupancy Standard Cabin, $4,195 pp/do + $210 (5% tax) = $4,405, double occupancy Superior Cabin, $4,195 pp/do + $210 (5% tax) = $4,405, Premium Cabin retail price: $4,795 pp/do + $240 (5% tax) = $5,035 pp/do. I recommend arriving a day or 2 early to avoid missing the boat in case of last minute airline rescheduling or cancellations. Some of us stayed at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa which was a little pricey but awesome. Others stayed at a bargain hotel and got what they paid for. I will be accepting initial deposits of at least $500.00 to hold your seat as of now. IMPORTANT: We must pre-pay the marine park fee of $375 pp. Deposits constitute a commitment and will not be refunded in the event of you cancelling unless we can sell your seat.*
