All divers are required to show proof of an internaonally recognized dive cerficaon or enroll in a scuba diving course with our instructors to dive with Aldora Divers. It is local regulaon here in Cozumel that all divers must dive with cerfied dive professional who holds the appropriate credenals to work in the Marine Park. All divers must fill out a diving medical quesonnaire prior to diving, if you answer ‘YES’ to any of the quesons, please contact the shop as you may need to be pre-approved to dive by a medical physician.

Safety is our first priority and we regularly evaluate dive condions and currents to make sure that your dives are safe and enjoyable. Days when there are high winds from the North and large swells, it may lead to port closures, which stops all water sports acvies, in the event of a port closure we will nofy our divers as soon as it reopens for diving that day.
Scuba diving can be a strenuous acvity and we require that all our divers be in good health and fit for scuba diving. All of our scuba divers are required to fill a scuba diving medical quesonnaire, which should bring up any medical problems that could predispose a diver to injury or death.
If there is a ‘Yes’ answer to any of medical quesons, a physician’s evaluaon is required in order to allow the diver in the water. Do not dive with contraindicated condions.Diving has many inherent risks, however stascally diving is safer than driving or running a marathon.
We expect divers to respect the ‘safe diving pracces statement of understanding’ which is signed before all in water acvies and taught during scuba diver training. For a responsible diver who seeks training and dives within his limits, the risks of diving are very low.The dive shop has boat passenger insurance coverage, however divers are expected to have personal scuba diving insurance and travel insurance.
Do not drink any alcoholic beverages or take any drugs or medicaons which can alter your mental state before or between dives. Once you have taken anything your diving is finished for the day.
At Aldora we do not do decompression diving; as a cerfied diver you are expected to understand and know how to use the diving computer you are using and stay well within your no stop limits. If you are unsure about how to use your computer, ask your dive guide and they will explain to you how your computer works.
Listen to the dive briefings from your guides and follow dri diving guidelines and weighng recommendaons for steel tanks from your dive guide.
With the currents here in Cozumel, It is important to stay with the dive leader and carry a surface marker buoy. In case of separaon, please use the One minute rule: look around you for no more than 1 minute, if you cannot see anyone from YOUR group, ascend slowly and safely and rejoin the group at the surface.

(+52) 987 872 3397 www.aldora.com frontdesk@aldora.com
It is important to check your pressure gauge frequently throughout your dive and to surface with a reasonable reserve of air in your tank. Communicate with your guide throughout the dive as you are geng low on air, so your guide can plan the dive profile accordingly, then your guide will begin the safety stop to finish the dive once any diver has reached 700psi/50 Bar. All divers should have no less than 500psi/30 bar at the surface.
We evaluate the condions at each dive site, but each diver has different comfort levels, if the water is too rough for you or you feel that the current is going to be an issue, don’t dive, or end the dive the moment you experience difficulty.
Poor buoyancy control can lead to dangerous rapid ascents which can increase your risk of DCI and your chances of geng hit by passing boat traffic. If you are unable to equalize and the current is strong, we require you to re-surface and board the boat. The dive sites can be busy, for this same reason be aware of boat traffic, do not hang close to the surface unless the DM has their surface marker buoy out.
For any parcular dive site requests please ask your dive guide.

Please respect the rules of the Marine Park. Your dive guide is authorized to enforce the rules and will, if necessary, interrupt, restrict, or terminate a dive if anyone in the group does not obey the rules.
If possible do not use any sunscreen in the Marine Park, instead cover up using sun protecve clothing and wear a hat. However, If you must use sunscreen, only use ‘Reef Safe’ mineral based Sunscreens. There are plenty of places on the island to purchase ‘Reef Safe’ Mineral based sunscreen. If you need some ask your dive guide or at the office for informaon about where you can purchase it.
We have Ice cold water on all of our Boats divers are required to bring their own re usable/ re fillable bole to be filled on the boat. We are cung our use of single use plasc on the island and trying to reduce the amount of plasc that enters our oceans, plasc cups will not be given on the boat.
We appreciate your cooperaon and understanding of these regulaons set forth by the Marine Park to protect our Island and coral reef environment.
Your respect of these rules will help ensure a long and healthy future for our ecosystem.
For your help and support, we thank you.
(+52) 987 872 3397 www.aldora.com frontdesk@aldora.com
On the island please do not purchase any shells, turtle shells, shark teeth, or any products made from coral. Black corals grow in waters shallow enough to see while scuba diving, these corals are heavily exploited, as well as the sharks and they are becoming harder to find. Please do not buy any Seahorses, starfish, and other marine life collected and dried. These things are precious and also becoming harder to find. You purchase contributes to more being taken, so please do not take any home.
In restaurants, be conscious of what you are ordering and order responsibly. Sharks are rare and already over fished, so check your Menu for Shark and do not eat Cazon (shark). Some seafood is seasonal and there are seasons (their breeding me) when fishing certain species are banned. If you see it on the Menu it is illegal capture. There are plenty of other fish to eat in the meanme, like delicious lionfish or snapper!
During these dates, please we ask you not to eat: Lobster from March 1- July 1st
Grouper from Feb 1- March 31st
Queen Conch (in Ceviche) from May 1st-October 31stQueen Conch is in danger of exncon due to over fishing. (This is also the main food supply for the Spoed Eagle Ray) and over fishing depletes their food source during their mang season. Queen Conch come out in large groups to shallower water and sandy flats, making capture very easy. When we greatly reduce the number of conch, there aren’t enough of them to mate and lay their egg sacs. The same thing happens when lobsters mate and lay eggs, from March-July. The way lobsters are fished makes it difficult to see if there are eggs before it is killed. When they are caught and idenfied as female and full of eggs, it is already so wounded, it’s way too late and can no longer survive. The best way to protect is to only eat these during the months when it’s permied.
